TAG Heuer #DontCrackUnderPressure
Hello Guys,
It's Sunday, the weather is a little bit cloudy, so what's better than a hot coffee, chilling in my house, and write to you about my last weekend experience with TAG Heuer. As you've already seen on a previous post, TAG Heuer, organise some of the most interesting events that I've ever been (see here my last experience with TAG Heuer.)
This time, I was invited to attend the 111th edition of the Tour of Lombardy, for which TAG Heuer is the Official Timekeeper, where I had the once in a lifetime opportunity for 25 km cycling around Como, with Cadel Evans!
Cadel Evans, a BMC Switzerland ambassador, became a friend of the brand earlier this year. This legend's career is impressive to say the least: World Champion in 2009 and winner of the Tour de France in 2011, he is one of very few riders to have reached the podium in all three of the Grand Tours on the world circuit!
Of course, you know I am not used to this kind of sports, but I really couldn't lose this event. So now it's time to share with you all of the details of that amazing trip to Como!
Everything was so organized from TAG Heuer, and from the first minute there, I was so sure that my weekend will be amazing!
We arrived on Friday, and we have the opportunity to stay at one of the most central hotels in Como, Palace Hotel. The first night, we had the opportunity to meet in person and have dinner with Cadel Evans. We stay a lot with him, and he is so friendly and kind , and of course he shared with us some tips for the Saturday tour!
On Saturday was the big day! Our appointment was to meet early in the morning in order to get our cycling clothes and be ready for the tour! In a super friendly atmosphere, the 80 amateur riders gathered our equipment and mounted our BMC bikes to take part in this extraordinary race. We followed the route through the magnificent district of Como, its mountains and lake.
I really couldn't believe how much I like the race, and even if I thought that maybe 25km will be much, finally I really enjoyed that cycling on this sunny day around Como! Of course, during my tour I had with me, my new TAG Heuer Connected Watch!
Our cycling day finished by attending the arrival of the professional cyclists competing in the Tour of Lombardy. This race is a benchmark in road cycling. The route is known for being difficult, as it crosses between the mountains and the area surrounding Lake Como. Thanks to a global agreement with RCS Sport, the Tour of Lombardy, as was the case for other races organised by the group since the start of the year, will be sporting the TAG Heuer colours.
It's worth recalling that, following a 20-year absence, TAG Heuer this year renewed its links with top level cycling under the direction of Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Group Watch division. Already a sponsor of BMC Racing Team (a partnership that began on 1st January 2017), the Swiss watch brand wished to further strengthen its commitment to cycling by becoming Official Timekeeper for some of the biggest races around the world!
In the evening we had also the opportunity to had dinner all together again all the participants and discuss our cycling experience!
Sunday, was our last day, a walk around Como, and finally took the train back to Zurich!
It was one of the best experience that I had all of those years of blogging, and I feel so lucky and honored that I attend this trip with TAG Heuer. Can't wait for the next one!
