Escape to Geneva - The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix
Hello Guys,
I hope you are well, healthy and safe!
I know it’s been a lot since my last post on the blog, but also for me as all of you, these last months was also weird. Of course, I tried to keep you updated through my IG, but a lot of trips and events were canceled. Hopefully, it’s time to go back to normality, and since the measurements in Switzerland were down, last weekend I finally did my first trip after 3 months. So, the season is already on, and is time to go back to normality, but of course, we should always take care!
Last Monday, was a holiday, so I took advantage of the long weekend and of course of the summer weather, so I decided to travel to Geneva, and stay at one of the most historic hotels in Switzerland, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix.
Of course, It wasn’t the first time that I traveled to Geneva, but I was so happy that I could finally stay at this hotel, as it’s one of the first hotels in Geneva since its opening its doors in 1865!
Since then, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva has stood as a landmark among 5-star hotels. Today, that tradition continues with Italianate architecture that gives way to contemporary design, with innovative cuisine, and with quintessentially Swiss experiences.
I was so impressed with the location as has an overseeing of the breathtaking landscape of Mont Blanc, the city center and the timeless waters of Lake Geneva glinting just outside the windows. Of course, this luxury hotel is just steps away from iconic attractions.
Searching about the history of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix you can easily understand that Hotel de la Paix has defined luxury in Geneva since its inception in 1865. It has also stood at the crossroads of history, inspiring many memorable gatherings including the International Congress of Peace, and has welcomed high-profile guests from across the globe, such as the Monaco Royal Family!
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva in 2017 completed a multi-million hotel extensive re-design and refurbishment, marking a new era in the evolving story of one of Geneva’s most elegant and historic hotels!
The newly restored public areas reflect a design concept created around art, time and nature, representing the hotel’s lakeside setting and the city of Geneva.
One of the most impressive parts, is of course the central cavaedium of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva, where design meets tradition. An exhibition of tapestries celebrates the historical figures who played a role in attaining peace, from Giuseppe Garibaldi to Victor Hugo. History becomes art, decorating multiple floors. The ancient technique of tapestry is reimagined in a contemporary way, offering the guests an immersive experience in La Galerie du temps suspendu!
Of course the 74 guestrooms and suites have been re-styled with a sleek and modern design!
I stayed at one of the Deluxe Lake View Rooms with elegant, residentially inspired style! The soothing color palette and beautiful furnishings make you feel like home, and give you the impression of the full relaxation. Of course there is a stunning view over the lake and Monument Brunswick because of the huge windows , and of course a lake view balcony!
One of the highlights of my stay at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix was of course the private dinner at one of the 2 presidential suites of the hotel. I’ve never had an experience like this before. A unique and personalized alternative to traditional Restaurants. I had the opportunity to taste an exquisite 3-course menu created by Chef Lenaic Jourden, while relaxing at the suite set as a private dining room. Of course first I enjoyed the sunset having an apero at suites balcony with a stunning view. This was the meaning of luxury!
Dining at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva honors Switzerland’s vibrant culinary scene. The Living Room Bar & Kitchen offers internationally inspired menus all day, including Afternoon Tea and weekend brunches, while Fiskebar is the first restaurant in Geneva to serve Nordic-fusion cuisine.
Unfortunately, both of them were still closed when I visited, but they will be open again very soon!
What of course has to be mentioned is that the hotel took all the measurements and actions for the safety of all their guest.
Thank you very much Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix for this amazing experience. I am sure that I will be back again very soon!
