Tiki Cocktails at the "summer jungle" of Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens
Hello Guys,
I hope you are well and enjoying your summer vacations!
As you’ve already seen, these days I am in Greece for my summer holidays. Especially, this week I am at one of my favorite places in Greece, Limeni in Mani .
Enjoying my afternoon cold coffee, I decided to share with you how I spent my last week in Athens!
Before I arrived at Limeni , I spent some days in Athens .I really like to spend some summer days there, because even if you don’t believe it, there are some very cool and fresh ideas for your summer days in the city!
As always,I stayed at my favorite Hotel Grande Bretagne .You know how much I like to spend some days at this amazing hotel and you have seen many times posts on Cameonistas about this so elegant and luxury hotel!
I think that one post can’t include everything about this amazing experience, so first I want to share with you about my lunch and the amazing Tiki cocktails that I enjoyed at the tropical summer “jungle” of Alexander’s Cigar Lounge.
For our lunch we choose the lobster and beef burger combination! A so fresh ground beef burger with grilled lobster served with French fries and fresh green salad!
We also choose the classic American Burger. A fresh ground beef patty, cheddar cheese and bacon on a sesame bun served with coleslaw, tomato, onions and French fries!
As you can see on the photos they look and of course taste so delicious!
We choose to combine our lunch with two of the super cool Tiki cocktails!
The culture of Tiki cocktails began in America in 1934, and specifically in Beverly Hills, when Ernest Raymond Beaumont of Louisiana, a former alcohol smuggler during the ban, returning from a trip to the South Pacific opened the “Don the Beatchcomber » Bar-restaurant. There he brought exotic images, tastes and experiences from his travels, creating a new trend. The decoration, music, food and, above all, the tasty cocktails based on rum, fruit and spices traveled tastefully to exotic places.
Inspired by the above story and the Polynesian culture in general, the bartenders of the Hotel Great Bretagne wanted to revive the culture of that time in the colonial environment of Alexander's Cigar Lounge. The surrounding garden is now turned into a tropical jungle and the outdoor bar is constantly refreshing for Tiki Cocktails.
Wishing to showcase the complexity of rum from the Pacific and Caribbean regions, the bartenders mix them with exotic fruits, spices and extracts, serve them in imposing, colorful glasses of ethnic character and decorate them with impressive fresh fruit and aromatic trim herbs!
For everyone who is still in Athens, a cool Tiki cocktail at the tropical jungle of the Alexander’s Cigar Lounge is the best way to spend his warm day in the city!
P.S. Stay tuned for my next post about my day at the amazing spa of Hotel Grande Bretagne!
