The “Art of Luxury Leadership” conference by Glion Institute
Hello Guys,
I hope you are well, and enjoying your week.
It’s Thursday and even we are at the end of September, I really can’t believe how fast passed this month. As you’ve already seen on my IG, this month was full of super exciting and interesting projects!
Today, I finally manage to have some time between some meetings, in order to share with you my last week experience , my short trip to Geneva, in order to attend the “Art of Luxury Leadership” conference, organised by Glion Institute, the leading Swiss hospitality management school and hosted at the Mandarin Oriental in Geneva.
As you’ve already seen on our blog, all these years we had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most luxury brands worldwide, and of course a big part of our blog is based on Hoteling. So, it was so interesting and inspiring for us to attend this conference, when one of the main issues were how to communicate and also to manage all these parts of the “luxury” issue. Of course, it was a big honor for our blog to been invited by Glion, to attend this conference.
Each year, Glion organizes a luxury conference on relevant topics within the hospitality and luxury industries. In this conference, participate leaders from the luxury industry in order to engage in exclusive round-table discussions on the luxury client and guest experience. This conference format gives Glion students and graduates the opportunity to learn more from top-level speakers about trends, innovations and challenges in the hospitality and luxury sectors while meeting with industry leaders face-to-face.
Last week we had the opportunity to participate in a discussion between some of the leaders and experts from across the world of luxury :
Amanda Kayne, Moderator,News Anchor at CNN, Money Switzerland
Claudia Schwarze, General Manager at Aman Venice
Lars Wagner, General Manager at Mandarin Oriental Geneva
Hannah Pace, HR Director at Richemont Switzerland
Stephen Alden, CEO at The Dedica Anthology Milan
Suzanne Godfrey, Head of Luxury Brand Management in Hospitality Specialization at Glion
Dino Auciello, Head of Marketing & Communication at DLG (Digital Luxury Group)
Stéphanie Gellerstad, Student at Glion Institute of Higher Education
Some of the topics that were discussed were, the definition of luxury and also how the luxury transformed in order to achieve the new consumers, such as the Millennials or the super growing Asian market.
Another issue of the conference, which I also found it super interesting, was the new ways to communicate luxury and all these new trends on in luxury industry digital game.
The end of the discussion, were focused on how should be the selection of the future luxury leaders and which characteristis should have a leader in order to be the motivation of his team. For sure all these years Glion Institute is the leading of the field of luxury hospitality management and gave us all the answers about how to prepare and start your career in the luxury industry.
